The historic architecture adds charm to the stay.
Check-in took an excessive amount of time, making the arrival frustrating.

Central location in Kandy. Next to the lake and the Temple of the Tooth. Public rooms, bar, restaurant etc are spacious and well cared for and just what you hope for in a hotel of this age. Breakfast good and buffet dinner very good value for money.
Distance of room from reception. Taken in lift to first floor and then had to walk what seemed like miles to a flight of stairs. Then walked another long distance to 2 more flights of stairs. Would be very hard if you had any sort of disability, were old or had kids with you. On arrival at room it too was disappointing. Very, very dated and poorly equipped. Reception staff very keen to take our money before we saw the room and I can see why.

The staff provided excellent service and arranged a delicious chocolate cake for my anniversary. The location by the lake is perfect for exploring the city. Dining options included traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, adding to the experience 🌟

Queens hotel is tipically Victorian style hotel with great history, situated on the shores of Kandy lake. The rooms and bathroom were very spacious and very clean and all the service in hotel excellent.
There is nothing bad about this hotel.

Excellent location,
Very old and dirty. I do not recommend it for people who normally prefer to stay in five or four stars hotel.

I also loved the charming atmosphere and the friendly staff who made every meal special. Plus, the cozy Superior King Room was a sanctuary after a day of exploring Kandy.
Now, while the hotel's historic charm is endearing, it does show its age in places.

The breakfast was traditional and free, the check in was quick. The room was great-sized with a lovely bed and a shower and a hairdryer in the bathroom.

Not worth for the room price and food served well below standard. We found another hotel with excellent food and service at cheaper price and a great location. The request for quiet room with a view not met at Queens Hotel. Cannot be recommended.
Hotel did not respect request for quiet room. The power in the room went off twice due to short circuit. Location not recommended as it is very noisy as of four o'clock in the morning. Can be used as transit hotel for one night only.

I enjoyed a lovely stay in a comfortable Superior King Room, as it's right by Kandy Lake, perfect for a nice stroll to the Temple of the Tooth and the beautiful Royal Palace of Kandy nearby.

Nice old historic building. Good location.
Too expensive for what we got. A little bit grubby. We found one cockroach in the hallway and the other one in the dining room.

Great location for exploring Kandy. Atmospheric and characterful hotel, if a little run down. Good tea.
Staff initially denied all knowledge of our booking and were unwelcoming until they finally found it. Rooms facing onto the road are very noisy, starting with drumming from the temple opposite from 2am, before the traffic starts around 5am. Poolside changing area very grotty. Lousy breakfast.
